Stupidity

Culture — By on April 18, 2010 at 10:44 am

Stupidity is an action-packed comic exploration of the issue of willful stupidity in the modern world. Stupidity sets out to determine whether our culture is hooked on deliberate ignorance as a strategy for success. From Adam Sandler to George W. Bush, from the IQ test to TV programming, to the origins of the word moron, Stupidity examines the “dumbing down” of contemporary culture. Stupidity embarks on an exhaustive search into its meaning, and the implications of a culture that is obsessed and saturated with stupefying culture.

Stupidity careens at warp speed through sound bites on topics from television news and reality TV shows, to Internet sites and popular films. Featuring opinions and comments from some of today’s most recognizable figures, cultural critics, authors and academics, including John Cleese, Noam Chomsky, Selma Hayek and Bill Maher, Stupidity reveals that, despite our culture’s extensive access to knowledge and information, humans continue to choose stupidity.

I think the guy around 38 minutes nailed it..
I’m from Asia, and its true…we are taught to look up to our elders..but u come here and you find parents upset cause their kids don’t think that they are cool!!!
its ridiculous…the technology age or whatever has made parents soo insecure here that now they don’t teach their kids what they ought to be teaching..
the parents/adults themselves don’t seem to have been bought up with the dignity of age! being in my 20′s i find i encounter women all the time in their middle-age jealous of me!! in my country that would just not happen. women in their 40′s would have grace and will know to age gracefully! I met a woman from greece in her 50′s and she was so loving and with soo much grace and a genuine heart, I was floored! such people and attitudes should be common place!!
Young people have reverence for your elders!!
Older people.act like you have been through more of life because you have…and don’t seek approval from the youth and don’t be needy idiots wanting to be young and fabulous forever!
